My collection started back in 1987 as far as I can remember. The first album I ever owned on cassette was Bad by Michael Jackson. Ever since then I always spent my pocket money on new cassettes each weekend. Saturday would be pocket money day, and you would often find me trawling through town looking in all the different record shops hoping to buy the latest chart hits. My hometown had a few little independent record shops too. One was called Richards Records and they were always good to me. Everytime an artist I liked had a new album or single out, the staff in Richard's Records would give me the 12' display cards and posters for free! I still have many of them to this day which you will see at some point. How I miss those days! I loved a CD single too, and most of them released in the 90s were released as a 2 part CD set. If you were a true collector like me then you'd have to buy the single in every format. Some CD singles came with a free poster and some postcards. As I recall those releases would not count towards the chart position? Posters and postcards were another collection of mine. I had posters on every single inch of my wall space I had in my bedroom, and they were all the certain Ms Louise Redknapp (or simply just Louise as she is professionally known in music). I still collect to this day and I'm happy with the recent comeback in Vinyl records, and more recently the cassette! Here's hoping for a MiniDisc revival but I won't be holding my breath anytime soon!
